Biotech Research Centre,
Hyderabad |
| The
project seeks to manage a complex technical program of laboratory spaces (some
of which have to be managed as clean room environments), yet provide a spatial
order for a vibrant research community. This is done by dividing the spaces around
three nuclei. The fist nucleus is contemplative in nature, and houses an exhibit
space on the company's achievements at its centre. This space is envisaged as
the "jewel in the crown" and is set within a reflecting pond. The second
nucleus is a technical atrium which forms a gathering space for scientists as
they emerge from the laboratories. The third nucleus is a social space surrounded
by the cafeteria, recreation room and mini-auditorium with the guest house above.
All three nuclei are linked a linear spatial sequence, and each nucleus independently
achieves transparency to landscape. The facility is being designed as a green
building that will achieve LEED certification. |
